01. What is Panjeeri

A taste of tradition, made for today

Panjeeri is a traditional South Asian sweet blend with a crumbly texture and a rich, slow toasted flavour. Recipes vary from family to family, often bringing together roasted flour, ghee, nuts, seeds and sweetness.

At Desi Panjeeri, we bring this much-loved tradition to your table with Panjeeri freshly handmade in the UK. Enjoy a familiar taste of home, or discover your first spoonful.

2. Our roots

From South Asian kitchens to your home

Panjeeri has deep roots in South Asian cooking, particularly in Punjabi communities across India and Pakistan. For generations, families have prepared their own versions, passing recipes and techniques from one kitchen to the next.

Some remember it beside a cup of tea on a winter afternoon. Others remember a mother or grandmother carefully roasting ingredients, filling the kitchen with their aroma.

Our Panjeeri takes inspiration from those traditions, bringing their familiar flavours to modern UK homes.

03. Traditional wellness

A tradition of care, shared through food

In many South Asian homes, making Panjeeri is a way of showing someone they are cared for. It has a longstanding place in winter food traditions and in the food families prepare for new mothers after childbirth.

That connection between food, family and care helps explain its enduring place in everyday life.

At Desi Panjeeri, we carry that spirit into what we make: carefully selected ingredients, traditional preparation and food to enjoy and share.
